I recently started to watch movies and listen to music online and have realized that this information is starting to take up a serious amount of my hard drive space. What is wrong and how do I fix it?

go to start button> all programs> accessories> system tools> Disk Cleanup

*after you cleaned it all up.. compress your iles.. using Disk Defragment..

go to start button> all programs> accessories> system tools> Disk Defragmenter

   Download CC Cleaner or MRU Blaser
   or
   Open Internet Explorer->Tools
   ->Interent Options;
   just click "Delete Files", "Delete Cookies", "Clear History"
   You can also select the Advanced tab in Internet options & under the security section select "Empty Temporary Internet Files when the browser is closed."

   Do like Ehdz said, and also go to Tools (from IE), Internet options,general, look at browsing history…you'll see options to Delete, or settings, you can select delete and you'll get more options for specific areas to delete, like cookies, history, passwords, etc. or you can go to settings and then you can choose to view your temp files, before you wipe them.

   Disk Clean up is supposed to get those files too, but I think it missed some of them, and this way you know your temp directories are deleted.

   What operating system are you using?
   if using xp or vista follow directions below.

   option 1: Left click "My Computer" Right Click on the drive your OS is installed on this is usually C: drive- left click properties- Left click disk clean up- select all options except compress old files & catalog file for context indexer. Left click "OK" button then just wait till finished. when done diskcleanup will close automatically. Just close the Drive properties window & ur done.

   Option2: My fav & i think the easiest way to clean unwanted files off my computer is CCleaner. It is a free & easy to use program. Plus if fixes registry issues.

   install it then open it.
   go to options- Advanced- uncheck all that are checked.

   now click on cleaner- check all the options under internet exployer, windows exployer, & system. now click on the Applications tab. Check all the options in this tab. you will only have to do this for the first time. now just click "Analyze" button when it finnishes analzing your system click 'Run Cleaner" button. Click "Ok" and there u go a clean system.

   hope this works for ya.
   also fyi- if you save the media file on your hard drive you will have to delete them manually. Right click file- Delete- then on desktop right click recycle bin - empty recycle bin.
